The Alphabet


Creole languages have until quite recently remained oral languages, transmitted from father to son and mother to daughter. With Louisiana Creole’s future in question, writing and teaching Creole is a necessity, ensuring the survival of this 200 year old language native to Louisiana.

In this Chapter, we will discuss the building blocks of Louisiana Creole: the Alphabet.
